Upon hire and in addition to their formal training, Home Support Workers receive one on one orientation with a member of our management team to review policies and procedures, Occupational Health and Safety standards, review and ensure signing of confidentiality agreements and ensure competency and training in the following:

·         CPR and First Aid
·         basic infection control, Routine Precautions
·         confidentiality
·         communication and interpersonal skills
·         home management skills
·         client rights
·         home support worker’s rights
·         personal care and activities of daily living, as per age and ability
·         delegation of function
·         occurrence reporting, abuse reporting
·         work assignment, staff replacement, service change, storm policy
·         transportation of clients
·         staff safety, harassment
